Emergency Relief for Kunar Earthquake Survivors

My name is Ahmad Shah Mehri. I am originally from Afghanistan and now live in Texas, USA. I have close family and community ties to people in Kunar Province, and many of them have been directly impacted by the recent earthquake. I am personally organizing this fundraiser to support them. All funds will be used for emergency food, clean water, temporary shelters, blankets, tents, medical supplies, and safe transportation to reach remote villages. I will share regular updates, photos, receipts, and a public expense tracker so donors can see exactly how every dollar is spent.

On August 31, 2025, a devastating 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Entire villages were reduced to rubble. More than 1,400 lives were lost, 3,000+ injured, and approximately 5,400 homes destroyed. Then on September 2, a powerful aftershock added to the devastation.

According to Al Jazeera, the death toll has tragically risen to over 2,200, as aftershocks and inaccessible terrain continue to hamper relief efforts 

. CNN also reported on the initial catastrophe, highlighting the scale of destruction in eastern Afghanistan and the massive rescue effort underway .

Today, families in Kunar are facing an unimaginable reality:

• Parents clutching their children in the cold with no roof overhead.

• Survivors reflected in the rubble, searching desperately for food, water, and loved ones.

• The injured and elderly waiting in agony for basic medical care.

This tragedy is personal to me. I have deep ties to Afghanistan, and I cannot stand by while families in Kunar suffer. That’s why I am launching this fundraiser — to provide urgent relief and restore hope where it’s needed most.
