Randy's medical fund
Donation protected
Our family is facing a serious challenge. Since July, Randy has been dealing with rapidly declining health. In October, he was diagnosed with Stage II Liver Disease due to a genetic condition called hemochromatosis.
Since then, he has been going through innumerable tests and procedures, both at the CU Medical Center and now at the University of Michigan Medical Center to fight this. He now needs a liver transplant to survive. He is living in Michigan, with his cousin, awaiting surgery, which we anticipate will happen soon.
We have health insurance and some resources that will allow us to cover a portion of the expenses, but there will still be out-of-pocket expenses for the procedure and other medical issues such as the anti-rejection medicine, which we understand alone will cost us about $3,000 per month. Also, as you may know, Randy works on commission in the real estate business and with the extensive recovery time he will be out of work until later this year. At this point, we believe that $40,000 should take care of things, however, if it turns out our total need is less we will donate the remainder to liver disease research.
We’ll give medical and other progress updates at this site:

Of course, we very much welcome your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you and God bless you all,
The Hughes Family – Randy, Deborah, Hannah and Harrison
