Please help Jose!

Hi, my name is Shelly and I am a volunteer and foster for PAWS New England. I had the privilege of being Jose's adoption coordinator and helped him find the most amazing forever family.
Jose was found in September 2021 wandering the streets in of Memphis with TWO severely broken hind legs. PAWS NE took him into our rescue and got him to a vet immediately were they performed extensive surgery to repair his legs. After his rehab he found a wonderful family in Dracut , MA who have spent the last 1.5 years helping Jose continue his rehab, overcome his fears and put his street days behind him.
Today I received a devasting email from Jose's adopter that this morning while he was taking his morning potty he was attacked by a coyote. He has skin punctures, a broken rib, some blood pooling in one lung, and he’s in shock. He’s at the Woburn Referral Hospital in critical condition on oxygen and pain meds. His adopters have another little chi, Bambi and a newborn baby girl so I am setting up this gofundme to hopefully help give them some financial relief. Any help you can give Jose would be greatly appreciated. The family has pet insurance for Jose, but their policy is capped at $7,000 and his current bill is over $18,000. We already know he is a fighter having survived the streets with broken limbs so his family and the PAWS community is hoping he has a lot of fight left in him. Below are the most recent updates form his adopter, Katie.
Update #1 They did surgery but they have to go back in because he’s bleeding internally. They need to find the blood vessel that is causing the bleeding. His red blood levels are dangerously low and he’s had a blood transfusion. He’s still extremely anemic. They’re going back in to see if they can find the blood vessel and stop the bleeding.
Update #2 (2 minutes after update #1) The vet called back with a new plan. They can’t explain it, but Jose’s blood levels and vitals were suddenly much better. His red blood count was up to 29% and his were more stable. They’re going to monitor him for the next couple of hours to determine next steps. We aren’t allowed to visit because they don’t want him to get excited. They said that if they felt he was dying we could visit, but that isn’t the current situation. Please keep praying.
PLEASE HELP JOSE FIGHT!!!
6/12/23 Update from Jose’s mom, Katie
Today was a good day. Jose had 3 visitors throughout his day—an amazing church friend, Katie, and then Tim. He has also been loved and spoiled with attention by the staff at the Woburn Referral Hospital. He was given an appetite stimulant and ate a small amount for one of the doctors, and then gobbled up his favorite chicken and rice meal from home later in the day. He is receiving a variety of pain medications intravenously along with plasma treatments. For all 3 visits he was wheeled into the visiting room on a medical chariot which he seemed to thoroughly enjoy. He was unable to sit on our laps due to the medications that he was receiving at the time, but he enjoyed getting kisses and rubs on his face, head, and ears. He is receiving antibiotics and his drainage tube is being closely monitored. His blood count remains normal along with his other vitals. We are unsure when he will be cleared to go home, but things have been going in the right direction so far. Once home it will be a long road to recovery with a lot of continued follow-up appointments, but the doctors believe that a full and total recovery is possible. Thank you to everyone that has prayed for Jose, donated to his treatments, and shared this campaign. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the outpouring of love and support from friends, family, and strangers alike.
