My name is Carrie, and asking for help like this is something I never imagined I’d have to do.

The home I’m currently living in isn’t just a house to me — it’s my dream home. It’s the house my grandma encouraged me to go for, the one she believed in for me when I was taking that leap. Because of that, it became more than just four walls. It’s where I’ve felt safe, grounded, and hopeful about my future, and it holds a lot of love and meaning for me. Knowing that my situation is now changing and I have to leave this home is incredibly heartbreaking.

Unfortunately, my landlord has decided to sell the property, and as a result, I have to move. This decision was completely out of my control, and it’s turned my life upside down in a very short amount of time.

Right now, I’m facing an overwhelming reality. I urgently need to find a new place to live, but securing another home requires a deposit, moving costs, and upfront expenses that I simply don’t have access to. I’m currently paying off the mortgage on this house, and while doing that, it’s impossible to save the amount needed to move forward. No matter how carefully I budget, there just isn’t room to build a deposit while meeting my existing financial obligations.

I never thought I’d be in a position where I’d have to ask others for help just to keep a roof over my head. I’ve always tried to handle things on my own. Reaching out like this is humbling and honestly a little scary — but right now, I don’t see another option.
