Leukemia treatment

Copied from Aubree’s dad:

Today July 13, 2020 our daughter Aubree has been officially diagnosed with “Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia”.

We took her to the hospital up in Gaylord, MI on July 11, 2020 while we were visiting family in the area from Virginia after two days of really uncharacteristic behavior for Aubree.

Our worst fears came true when the doctor came into the room after the blood work labs were done, and said Leukemia was a very big concern and we couldn’t stay there for care.

We requested to be seen here, in Ann Arbor at the UofM Mott’s Children’s Hospital. Janelle and Aubree were transported via ambulance as I followed in our vehicle.

We arrived at 0430 on Sunday morning, and the care here has been top tier. After a few more pre-treatment procedures early this afternoon, we will be able to begin treatment.

On July 13, 2020 Aubree went into surgery for a lumbar puncture and to have a port put in for chemo treatments!  She had her first treatment while under anesthesia.

She is at standard risk. The treatment will take 26-27 months of chemotherapy. It’ll be a long tough road, but she is in great shape. We caught it early, and she began chemotherapy July 13, 2020
This will be a long road, but we will endure! Please send all the positive vibes and prayers to Aubree!

Brandon and Janelle are stationed in Virginia and are here in Michigan for leave! They will continue treatment at Mott’s U of M for the duration of treatment which is 24-27 months. Unfortunately Brandon will have to go back without his family and this will be very tough on them emotionally and financially as Janelle and the two kids will have to set up a home in Ann Arbor, Mi to be close to the hospital for Aubree’s  continued treatment and medical care

Keeping two homes and all the extra expenses involved with her medical care, they are going to be in much need of any help! Aubree will lose her hair which for her is awful because she just told me on Friday that she was going to grow her hair like Rapunzel so this will be devastating and she will be in need of a childs wig which can be pricey as well. Please share this post and let’s get this little girl back to being a normal 4 year old as soon as possible! Any little bit helps but most importantly let’s keep praying for Aubree in hopes of getting her into remission!!
