Support Wendy's Fight Against Breast Cancer

We are writing to ask for your support for Wendy, a woman who has touched the lives of countless students and travelers in Guatemala. Every week, Wendy opens her home to students, offering them warmth, care, and love as they experience life with a Guatemalan family. She is the most loving host mother, and we are incredibly fortunate to know her.

Unfortunately, Wendy has recently received heartbreaking news: she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. The treatment she urgently needs comes at a cost of 105,000 quetzales, which is approximately €11,900, or $13,500 USD. For Wendy and her family, this amount is simply beyond their reach.

In Guatemala, access to affordable healthcare is limited, and public health options are not viable for Wendy’s situation. She needs this treatment as soon as possible, and every day without it puts her health at greater risk.

We have set up this GoFundMe campaign with a goal of raising $14,000 USD. This amount will cover her medical expenses, GoFundMe transaction fees, and provide a safe buffer for currency exchange and transferring the funds to Guatemala.
