Olivia's Mitzvah Project
Tax deductible
Hi Friends and Family,
In honor of becoming a bat mitzvah and in lieu of a party, my mom and I will be traveling to Morocco to participate in a meaningful mitzvah project at the Atlas Kinder Foundation to help support abandoned Moroccan children. The Atlas Kinder Foundation was founded in 2015 and funded the creation of a very special village called Dar Bouidar that is located in the High Atlas mountains in a town called Tahanoute, just outside of Marrakech. The village currently supports the lives of 175 abandoned children ranging in age from newborn to 14 years old that call Dar Bouidar their home. The village provides these children with the opportunity to have a meaningful life with shelter, food, education, clothing, all medical needs and the love of foster moms who are there to care for them daily.
The goal for my mitzvah project is to raise both awareness and funds for the foundation. When I learned that there are over 10,000 children that are left abandoned every year in Morocco I knew I wanted to help and make a meaningful difference in another child’s life.
Our goal is to raise $12,600 to sponsor children at the village throughout the year. 100% of the funds I raise will go towards supporting the their daily living expenses that include shelter, food, education, clothing, medical needs and care.
My mom planned a very special mother/daughter trip in early March to visit Dar Bouidar and spend time with the children and staff at the village. The experience of meeting the children and learning more about their lives and the issue of abandonment is meant to bring greater appreciation, meaningful connections and to see first hand the impact these funds will have on the lives of the children.
Please consider supporting my mitzvah project with a tax deductible donation of any amount. At a time when everything feels uncertain, nothing feels better than giving back and doing some good. With your help, we look forward to making a real difference.
Every dollar raised will be used to support the children of Dar Bouidar. I want to make a lasting impact.
10,000 children are abandoned in Morocco every year. Afak’s goal is to eradicate this problem and provide every single abandoned child with a proper home and a bright future.
Thank you
xx,
Olivia
