Help us preserve history! Our Grandfather moved this gambrel barn built by local barn builder Chris Cook from its original location on Washburn Road in Sharon Township to our farm in about 1960. Known as the loafing barn, it is the centerpiece of our farm buildings. After my brother and I inherited the farm in 2017, time had nearly collapsed the building. We invested thousands of dollars in repairing the rafters and installing a temporary roof over the original shake-shingle roof. Now, we are asking for help. We are working with a barn restoration company and would like to tear off the old roof and install a permanent metal roof that will last a lifetime. Join us and be a part of history with your donation toward this barn restoration project.
All donations of $1000 or more will be recognized on a plaque that will be hung inside the barn once the project is completed. Donations are not tax deductible as we are not a non-profit.
