My trip to Greece was quite some time ago now but the friends I made in my time there are still dear to my heart. Although I am not proactively encouraging donations to my page I am more than happy to ensure that any that come through (£90 just this week) go to the right place
Where will they go?
Any donations I receive will be passed on to friends I have that are currently working directly with the refugees in Greece. These friends are using the money to buy basic items for human survival such as food, hygiene items, clothing, shoes as well as purchase health and medical items for those that need it. The conditions in the camps, squats in Greece are very primitive and the refugees have no legal way of earning their own money so completely reliant on charitable work.
I know there are many people out there that want to help but don't have the connections to know that the money is going right to where it is needed. This is where I can help as my network is extensive having lived, slept and breathed it for months (once you get involved you can't turn your back)

Who am I .......
I'm a mum of three young children and an ex nurse, this year has been life changing for me. Stepping off the treadmill of corporate life has allowed me the time and space to open my eyes wide to the biggest humanitarian crisis since the end of the second World War. I am fortunate enough to have time available and a supportive husband, ultimately my heart is telling me that I can make a difference. This is not about politics for me it is about basic human kindness.
Who am I raising money for ......
Once I started paying attention to the refugee crisis I couldn't stop because it is so much worse than I ever could have imagined. Collecting a few wellies and sending a few treats to ease the suffering of the children did not cure my breaking heart it just opened my mind to how much more there was to do. How could I stop when so many families continue to be on a marathon journey to find a safer place to live and bring their children up. I am raising money to ease human suffering and support other families in the way I would hope we would be supported in a similar circumstance.
I have attached two short videos to give you more background to the crisis and hopefully go someway to explaining why I care so passionately about this cause.
