Mi abuelita

Donation protected

My dearest friends and family. First and foremost On behalf of my family I’d like to say thank you for the calls, text messages and prayers you all have sent.  About three weeks ago my grandma had a massive heart attack but we only found out after we noticed she wasn’t her normal self at home. She wasn’t eating and wasn’t drinking anything, so we took her to the Emergency room at Boca Raton regional hospital. After 6 days of not eating and just serviving on the iv we were able to put in a feedingtube. Three days of having the feeding tube she was looking much better. Still no movement as she was still very weak. The medical team said there was nothing else they could do, and to just put her into a Hospice. “We are her hospice “ we told them. So we knew we were going to bring her back home to Mexico where she can be with more family and eventually lay to rest next to my grandfather who passed away before  I was born.

My brother Chris came down from CT and rented avan (since she could not fly Because of her heart condition.) We all packed up and started the drive to Ajijic Mexico. A 33hour drive nonstop. We were all laughing and sharing stories of how amazing she was to us. (25 hours into the drive) My brother was driving , i was on the passenger seat, my mom was in the middle and my aunt and abuelita were in the far back. Unfortunately as I turned around as I always had an eye on her I saw mi Nina react differently, as I felt that something was wrong too I jumped quickly from the front of the van yelling her name in desperation and unfortunately she passed away in my aunts and my arms very peacefully though. 14 hours short of making it home to Mexico.

since she passed away in the back of the van we didn’t know what to do. So we went to a funeral home in Laredo Texas and told them we had mi abuelita who had been dead for 20 minutes. They called 911 and the process began. All the funeral arrangements have been partly paid for Mexico. Unfortunately since she passed away In the USA we now have to pay for another funeral to have her body shipped toMexico. She passed away on December 2,2019 at 12:22 pm. As we knew there was nothingelse for us to do there we kept driving to Mexico to get the paper work done. She is still in Laredo Texas. She isn’t able to be shipped back until we pay for the funeral services. We are desperate for help. So if you can please , anything will be deeply appreciated.

Thank you and God bless
