As many of you know Melody has been going through some pretty in-depth health issues. Jason and Melody would never ask for help so that is why I am reaching out to all of you. My name is Brittany and I am Melody’s best friend. In the last couple of years Melody has had some major issues with her health due to hypothyroidism. She had her thyroid removed in 2009 due to nodules covering it. Taking Synthroid faithfully every single day is what the Endocrinologist thought would be perfect enough after having her thyroid taken out…but that is just not happening. For years she has struggled with extreme exhaustion, dizziness, severe depression, hands and feet always cold and so many more symptoms. As a mother of three, dance instructor and full time worker it makes life very difficult to keep going when your tank is on E. Three weeks ago, she was at work and started having chest tightness and numbness in her lips. Within a couple of hours her vision was completely blurry and her left upper arm was numb. She had a headache like she has never experienced before. We took her to the Emergency Room at St. Anthony’s Hospital and within seconds they were hooking her up to monitors, starting an IV and ruling out a possible stroke. As she was monitored for the next three days in the hospital with many many tests performed…they were not able to determine exactly what was going on with her body. Best part is….it was ruled out not a heart problem. Worst news is she continues daily with blurred vision, numbness in her upper left arm, very weak and exhausted. Thank God for our amazing friends that pointed her and Jason in the direction of a Dr in Tampa…he specializes in thyroid, vitamin deficiency and hormone disorders. The lab work Melody must have next week is very extensive and very expensive. The Dr feels her body is not absorbing the thyroid medicine or the vitamin D her body is severely lacking. These labs are going to be huge in helping her get to the bottom of the problem so the new Dr can compound whatever formula to get her back on her feet. Melody has missed many days at work and many hours at both dance studios where she teaches. Their insurance is brand new (due to Jason’s recent job change) and they will have to pay their deductible of $6200.00 for the hospital stay. We do not know yet how much more the bills will add up as she was on the stroke unit at St. Anthony’s Hospital. Jason and Melody Monnell who have three children ages 10,12 and 13 truly appreciate your time, offerings and sharing of this post. Thank you to everyone!
UPDATE: Melody is back in the hospital with toxicity poisoning and Pneumonia. The doctors finally figured it out... her car was a manufacturing defect and poured a ton of rain inside from everywhere... when we took it to GMC within one hour they told us there was mold throughout the entire car. Three weeks ago and her health has greatly declined. We need your help please share this post or pray for her family... much love ❤
