Jeff's Journey
Jeff Klenke led a normal life growing up in Tonawanda , playing baseball, hockey and other sports up into high school and shared similar experiences that we all have had being a kid. In May of 2005 at 8:30 pm, Jeff and his girlfriend at the time were in a head on collision with a woman who turned into their lane. The impact from the collision broke his girlfriends collar bone on the passenger side. Jeff was not as fortunate, as he hit the steering column breaking it and then continued to hit the windshield with his head. This trauma unfortunately resulted in compression fractures and multiple disc herniations throughout all regions of his spine, as well as soft tissue complications in his Thoracic region, which was the worst area. Despite mulitple therapies over the years, his pain levels continued to expound and affect him daily 24 x 7. For many years, there was no surgical options because of the scope and locations of his injured spine. In January 2017, we found a surgeon who felt he could address the worst areas of Jeff's spine one surgery at a time, with hopes of restoring stability and greatly reducing pain levels. April 2017 Jeff underwent the first surgery and recently in January 2018 his second surgery. There may be a third surgery in his future. We are raising funds for Jeff to pay for past Medical bills, current and future must needed therapy over the next year of recovery. Alot of therapies have been denied by the insurance companies, so we need to help in Jeff's journey for recovery. One of the therapies that will help is an intense 2 week Myeofacial Release Program near Philadelphia that will cost $5,000 alone. Jeff has been Blessed with the gift of playing music and has a great Ear for Sound Mixing. His son Edgar (4 years old) and family have given him purpose to push past his pain to move forward. He is currently playing guitar and singing worship at his local church.
