I’m fundraising for my sweet girl, Stella, who has been our loyal companion for the past 10 years.
About a month ago, Stella tore her cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) which is the canine equivalent of an ACL in humans, along with damage to her meniscus, which acts as a shock absorber in the knee. This injury is incredibly painful and makes it very difficult for her to walk, stand, sit or move comfortably.
It happened when she got overly excited seeing my daughter and suddenly twisted her leg. That moment, which should have been filled with joy, quickly turned heartbreaking as she yelped and suddenly couldn’t walk properly. Since then, she’s been limping in pain, and unable to enjoy the active life she once loved; running on the beach, fetching balls, playing with her favorite cousin, going on walks and hikes, hopping in the car, and simply being her happy, playful self.
Stella has been active her entire life. We adopted her when she was just 8 weeks old, and from day one, she has brought so much love, comfort, and light into our lives. She’s incredibly affectionate, always giving hugs and wanting to be close to everyone she meets. She has been a constant source of emotional support, and this injury has truly dimmed her light. Watching her struggle has been heartbreaking.
The vet has confirmed that surgery is the only way to properly repair the ligament and give Stella a chance at a pain free life again. The cost for the procedure, aftercare, and physical therapy is estimated at $3,000 which is more than I can afford on my own right now.
I never imagined needing to create a GoFundMe, but I would do anything for Stella. The amount of love she’s given to everyone around her, she truly deserves to receive in return.
If you feel called to donate, even a small amount, it would mean the world to us. And if you can’t give, sharing this page would help more than you know.
Thank you so much for reading and for being a part of Stella’s healing journey. Let’s help her run again!
