Support Jay and His Family
On Friday, March 6, our dear friend Jay suffered a stroke just as he was getting ready to leave for work. Realizing something was very wrong, he sat down and called 911. He was rushed to Central DuPage Hospital and admitted to the ICU Stroke Unit.
The stroke has affected the left side of Jay’s body. He currently cannot move his left arm or leg, and his speech has been impacted. He understands everything that is going on, but it takes great effort to get words out. His brain has experienced significant trauma, and recovery will take time.
Despite this, Jay is already showing incredible determination. His feeding tube has been removed, he is eating puréed food and thickened liquids, and he is even holding a spoon and feeding himself. Physical therapy has already begun, and he is working hard every day.
On Sunday, Jay will be transferred to Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital in Wheaton, Illinois, where he will begin intensive therapy and start the long road to recovery.
During this incredibly difficult time, his girlfriend Ann and his children are doing everything they can to support him while managing daily life. The medical and rehabilitation expenses will be significant, and the family is also facing everyday costs while Jay focuses on healing.
Many people have asked how they can help. Donations will help with medical expenses, rehabilitation care, and everyday needs like food, gas, and gift cards so the family can focus on Jay’s recovery.
If you are able to contribute, it would mean so much. If not, please consider sharing and keeping Jay in your prayers.
Jay is a fighter, and we know he will give everything he has to this recovery.
Thank you for your love and support.
