Pat Brown is an Educational Support worker who has been with the Waterloo Catholic School Board for over 17 years. Two years ago she lost her son after an illness where she had to take time off to support him and her family and now she finds herself in a difficult financial situation and has never asked for assistance. However we would like to come together as a community to give back to someone who has given so much of herself.
Our friend and colleague was diagnosed in November with stage 4 Kidney cancer . She is the main caregiver for her husband Tim who has PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy), which is a degenerative disease involving the gradual deterioration and death of specific volumes of the brain. As well as her son Matthew who is Autistic and requires ongoing support. She is the main financial provider and is unable to continue working while she receives treatment. She is seeing a naturopathic Dr. and has started receiving natural treatments which are very costly along with her regular visits to her Dr. in Hamilton, gas ,parking, etc. The money collected would go towards her medical needs and family support.
