Hi, my name is Chasity, and I’m fundraising on behalf of my dad, John, who was recently diagnosed with stage one pancreatic cancer at just 46 years old.
My dad is the backbone of our family. He’s a son, husband, father, grandfather, and a man with a heart big enough to carry all of us through life’s hardest moments. He and my mom have been married for 30 years, and together they’ve raised two children and now have seven beautiful grandchildren between me and my brother.
Anyone who knows my dad knows he’s a jack of all trades, but truck driving has always had his heart. No matter where life took him, he always found his way back to the open road. He’s always been our provider; financially, emotionally, and spiritually. If you needed help, a safe place to land, or someone to talk to without judgment, you could count on him. No matter what.
In late June, our world was shaken when my dad was diagnosed with stage one pancreatic cancer. He is preparing for a major surgery in 3–4 weeks, followed by chemotherapy shortly after. Recovery from surgery alone will keep him out of work for at least six weeks, and chemo will extend that time even further.
With each doctor’s visit costing $90 in copays and $650 for every scan, the financial burden is quickly adding up, especially since my dad won’t be able to work and my mom’s income alone can’t cover all their bills.
What the Funds Will Support:
• Medical copays & scan costs
• Travel expenses for treatment
• Everyday bills while Dad is out of work
• Supporting my parents through this unexpected and difficult time
We are humbly asking for any donation. No matter how small, to help ease this burden so my dad can focus on healing, not worrying. If you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this campaign or keeping our family in your prayers means the world to us.
My dad would never ask for help himself. He’s far too proud and selfless, but we know he would give the shirt off his back to a stranger in need. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.
Thank you for reading, sharing, and supporting our family during this time. We are so grateful for your love and kindness.
With love,
Chasity
