Help Hazel's Recovery

Hi my name is Chantal and me and my partner brought our baby girl Hazel into our lives when she was just 5 months old. She is an 11 year old Husky with the biggest personality and tons of attitude. We dont have any kids and treat her like our child. We've given her such a great life and will continue to for as long as we can. Unfortunately Hazel has had some medical misfortunes over her life starting in 2018. It started with a small lump we later found out was a mast cell tumor that we had removed. Then in 2019 she had mammory cancer lumps removed and in 2022 she had some suspicious lumps removed that were cysts. She is such a strong girl that has recovered from all of them very well. Because of her history we've always kept an eye for mysterious lumps and recently found a soft tissue lump that will be what ends up saving her life. We brought her to the vet to which the doctor was concerned with her weight loss. Side note we walk her a lot and thought she lost weight due to plenty of exercise and her energy was still up. The vet ran bloodwork and took an Xray and that's when they found a tumor in her abdomen first suspected as a splenic tumor. They can burst and they told us she needs emergency surgery. We were booked into the nearest hospital the next day and the tests began. After an ultra sound they found the tumor was instead on her liver. We painstakingly had to wait 2 days for a full abdominal CT to confirm the size and whether it was resectable or not. They decided it was and were able to operate right away. Hazel is now in recovery however the bill was significantly higher than we were quoted. After both her initial vet visit where they found the tumor and the hospital bill we are faced with a bill of $9500. We still have to have a follow up with more bloodwork and will need to have xrays and bloodwork on a regular basis to make sure the cancer doesn't return.

She is a big part of our little family and anyone that knows us knows how important she is to us. Everyone who meets her adores her and we can't imagine life without her.
