Hi, my name is Natasha Ziegler aka Tasha, Joshua Hernandez’s big sister. I have started this fund to help Joshua with medical bills, groceries, phone bills, Uber rides to doctors, and other needs, as he does not have health insurance. If you prefer not to use GoFundMe you can message me about other options. History and updates read below

Joshua is 28 years old and a father of a 5-year-old daughter. He supports the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has been working two cooking jobs at Twin Peaks and IHOP. He planned to go to trade school in the spring. On 9/21 he went to the ER with complaints of abdominal pain. On 9/25 the NCH doctors told Joshua he had adenocarcinoma cancer and the plan was that he was going to live with our mother in north Florida and try to get into Moffitt in Tampa for cancer treatment. They put a port in his chest on 9/29 with the expectation that he will need it for treatment and continued blood tests. They also drained his abdomen, which continues to fill with fluid every 4-7 days due to the cancer. We were ready to drive him to my mom after discharge on 9/30 but then they found blood clots, a DVT in his leg, and a pulmonary embolism in his lungs so they kept him at the hospital and started treating him with stronger blood thinner medication. They told us on Friday 10/3 that based on his current health status he should not travel or work his jobs as he could risk developing more blood clots and be more life-threatening. Doctors also told him his cancer is incurable because of its progression to an advanced stage 4 and “Usual survival measured in months, not years”. He may still not qualify for treatment due to his health and how far the cancer has progressed. They still have not confirmed the source of his cancer started and without that, they will not decide on treatment yet.

So as of right now he is scheduled to be discharged on Monday, 10/6 from the hospital and stay with Naima so he is 5 minutes from the NCH hospital and can have follow-up doctors ' appointments for them to find the source of the cancer, and decide treatment. He will have to see a doctor every 4-7 days to have his abdominal fluid drained as well. As of right now his goal is to focus on his health and get clearance to travel by November and hopefully, we will know at that point if the Moffitt Cancer Center will take him. For fear of losing his life he has asked for a few things over the next month including a family dinner and to see his daughter.
