Hi there, My name is Sharna and this is a gofundme that I’ve set up for my beautiful 1 year old cat Luna. Yesterday around 7pm me and my partner received a call from a vet surgery in Reading saying that our poor baby has been hit by a car. A lovely lady took her to the vet as soon as she saw her in that condition- I have her details and have thanked her greatly.

We rushed in as soon as we could to see Luna, her face looked so different, her mouth was open and bottom jaw was swung to one side and tongue was hanging out. As soon as I saw her I broke down instantly, she was so happy to see me because she thought I was there to help her and take her home.

Luna’s injuries was mainly just a broken jaw, which is what I find very strange considering we’ve been told she was hit by a car. Surely if she was hit, she would have many other injuries to her face as well, not just a broken jaw. Deep down in my heart I think some evil person has kicked her and it breaks my heart to think someone could do that to such an innocent animal.

Luna is the most gentle and loving cat anyone could ask for, I really want her to come home

The vets gave us 2 options- we can either put her to sleep or pay £4000 (estimated) for her to get a jaw operation. £1450 of that was the initial hospitalisation that they conducted as soon as they received Luna- so painkillers and X-rays . Then the remaining £2250 is to get her surgery done. And a few extra hundred for keeping her in overnight to recover.

I have never asked for money before from anyone or anywhere but I’m 21 years old and currently a student studying Health Sciences. £4000 is a massive amount to pay for a student, however I am so desperate to get her better. I would never be able to live with myself if I just put her down and didn’t try my best to raise some money.

This has happened right before Christmas as well, so any spare money that I had saved up has been spent on small Christmas gifts for my family previously.

I have attached some pictures of my beautiful girl before the accident and then a video of her from last night, it may be disturbing to some people so please don’t view if you will be affected in any way. I have also attached some pictures of the bills that was given to us yesterday, just because I don’t want people to think I am trying to scam anyone for money.

I just really want my baby home, she must be so terrified. I know it’s Christmas time and money is a little tight for everyone right now, but even if you could donate £1 this would mean so so much to me, every single penny helps.
