In Times Like These, We Need A Savior. In Times Like These, We Need A Friend.
Today many are watching as states reopen, businesses and jobs slowly recover from what most would describe as the worse fight we have ever witnessed, COVID-19. Our Family on the other hand has been waging an additional war, CANCER-19.
As many of you may know, on January 22, my Bonus Mother, Tracy Roberts received her confirmation of the 2019 cancer findings and given her war-time orders to prepare for a lifetime battle.
Now this battle, we are calling T-Day, is quite different than the one you and I have just lived though. We battled toilet tissue shortages, home schooling, working from home, pay cuts, job losses, having to choose what to binge watch on Netflix and plain boredom! And to us this sudden and drastic change in lifestyle has been crippling. Now think for a moment if you will, not only these troubling things, but the devastating news of CANCER added to that mix. Can you and I really fathom this, I dare say not, for we are all reeling from how our own world has been effected.
Allow me to paint a comparison between our battle and Tracy’s T-Day battle.
She was provided orders similar to ours; Eat Healthy, Rest, Avoid Crowds, Wear a mask, Wash your hands frequently, and Protect your mental health. But that’s where the similarity ends! Her next orders included a Mastectomy, Proton Therapy, Rehab, and more.
Tracy is the selfless mother of 5 wonderful children, me included, and devoted 25 year Registered Nurse, currently serving as a Hospice care RN. Her love and dedication to her family, church, friends, and patients are just outward displays of the values and Christ like nature of our mother. Her unwavering service is one we all aspire to emulate.
I’m sure many of you know the financial strain that this awful disease can put on a family. Our family has postpone any type of fundraiser because of the pandemic and given the facts at hand we made the decision to fundraiser virtually.
We know that in difficult times we stand together on all fronts and hope you will consider a donation of any size to help with endless medical expenses and daily necessities while Tracy is out of work for treatments, and my Dad is out of work due to an accident.
Thank you for your friendship, donations and continued prayers as we battle this thing called life together.
“In times like these, we need a Savior. In times, like these, we need an anchor. Be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock.”
PLEASE Share with your friends, family and co-workers - we need your help.
