As many of you know, our precious mom, Lilia De La Riva, suffered a brain hemorrhage on January 7th while visiting her family in Mexico. She battled severe pain for several days in hospitals in Mexico while waiting to undergo brain surgery to clip the aneurysm in her brain to stop the hemorrhaging. Our mom was recovering well for three days after surgery but then suffered a setback in her recovery on the fourth day which has prolonged her hospital stay. Unfortunately, without medical insurance and with this occurring in a foreign country, no financial help is available by any agency in the United States, and because she does not reside in Mexico and due to it being a major surgery she underwent, there is no agency in Mexico that will assist financially, either. Many who know our mom, know her for her generosity, love, and for the way she goes above and beyond to help people in any way possible, especially with her ministry of Jesus Christ.  We definitely don’t want to burden anyone financially, but if you have been touched by our mother’s generosity and ministry, or if you just feel compelled to help, any generous donation will surely be appreciated and will be greatly useful in covering her medical costs.  While the cost of brain surgery in Mexico is relatively low in comparison to brain surgery in the U.S., which could be upward of $100k, the total cost of what the hospital is requiring in Mexico is $20,000 U.S dollars. We are setting that dollar amount as a goal, although, we don’t expect to raise that amount, all donations large or small will certainly help and are extremely appreciated.
