Some may or may not know that our family was hit with a tragedy. Our mum Karen has passed away unexpectedly. No measure of words could express the devastation we are feeling at this current moment in time. We are heartbroken.
Just a few words to give you all an insight into the radiant energy our mum was. Our mum was the strongest woman we knew. She raised us alongside our stepdad who we refer to as pops, and life wasn't always easy for our family, but our mum prevailed through every obstacle and gave us the best chance at life we could have. She was the glue that held us all together, our rock, all her life she lived and breathed for her children. We were all she cared about and she meant everything to us. Karen was always smiling, if anyone ever needed anything our mum was there. She was one of the most selfless people we've ever known. Karen was known to many as a second mum, her warm hugs would make anyone feel safe and loved.
Our mum worked as a carer, and she loved her job because what gave her the most fulfilment in life was to give other people a better quality of life. Taking care of others was her passion. Whenever we would visit the care home, the residents and their families would always express how they adored our mum. She spread happiness and smiles wherever she was and left a positive impact even after she left the room.
The death of Karen was such sudden, tragic and completely unexpected news, and we were not anticipating the financial repercussions due to this. An average funeral in the UK costs around £4000. Something that our family simply cannot afford. With that being said, we are aware that this time of year with Christmas around the corner, is an especially difficult time regarding finances. But we are asking all of the people Karen knew and touched throughout her life to donate anything they can so that we can give Karen the funeral she deserves whilst also relieving some of the financial burdens for our family. Thank you.
