Edward Lilienthal, Jr. is my big brother, always been my hero. He was a great athlete and has a wonderful soul. I was proud to be known as "Eddie's little sister" most of my life; everyone loved him! To this day, people I know and even ones I don't know tell me stories of how kind he was, or how he defended someone, or what a great heart he has.
26 years ago, Ed was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and has had kidney cancer, in which both kidneys had to be removed, leaving him on dialysis for the rest of his life. He cannot play his guitar, throw a football; write a note...he can't walk anymore. He used to own a business, but he cannot work anymore. His wife Torrie, who also has MS, works as many hours as she is physically able at a retail store to provide essentials. Recently, Ed and Torrie had to vacate their apartment for a month while an exterminator came in to rid them of unwanted visitors. Between that cost, and the cost of a hotel, they are financially in the hole by at least $5,000, and stressed out. We are not a family with extra means, but are doing what we can to help. We would like to rid them of this financial strain.
Ed is very proud, and when I suggested this idea to him, I thought he was going to tell me "NO WAY!" But instead, he choked up and said, "Wow sis, you would do that for me?" I admit, it's really difficult to ask for help. But yes Ed, I would do this for you!
Thank you in advance, xo The Lilienthal Family
