Drowning in Medical Debt

Right before Christmas, I started to throw up blood, roughly a coffee mugs worth a day (for three days) and my roommate called an ambulance to take me to the hospital. I was admitted with GI issues and I had two endoscopies and lots of IVs poked into me for them to tell me that I had Esophagitis and two ulcers in my stomach, one of which they cauterized and put me on a drip medicine to help it heal while I was on bed rest.
Unfortunately, before all of this happened I was fired from my job which gave me decent health insurance, but it didn't expire until the end of December, so I fought to get out as soon as I could. Thankfully I made it out on the 30th and I've been healing and looking for a job since.
In the meantime, the bills that my insurance didn't cover are swallowing me whole until I find a job and it's scary to be unemployed and uninsured when several chronic illnesses rule your life.
So, I'm hoping that until I can get a job, I'm applying everyday, that I can have some help and be able to catch my breath again.
Any and all help is appreciated.
Thank you,
Nicole
