Antonio\'s Familial Loss

For those of you who work in our building, we\'re sure you have seen Antonio buzzing around, working diligently to make our office time a clean and pleasant experience - his delightful disposition rarely wavering. Today was a rather unusual day, in fact, it was the first time Robyn and I have ever seen him in tears.

He explained to us that on Monday (8/22/11), his uncle passed away in his arms. Diabetes was the ailment that ultimately took him.

Antonio and his family are now trying to send his uncle home to El Salvador for a viewing and burial service. As you can imagine, it is quite expensive. His uncle will need to be prepared in the U.S., proper shipping containers will need to be purchased, plus the shipping costs. Following the flight back to El Salvador, they will then be required to cover the cost to have his uncle transported to a small town quite a ways away, where they will need to pay and organize the funeral. These costs are debilitating for the family.

We are told that in their efforts to make this happen they are now selling their own personal items and reaching out in desperation to those who are willing to help. Antonio mentioned to us that his mother just sold her truck for a small amount in order to contribute. Unfortunately that sale does not even come close to the amount that they require to get his uncle home. So with Antonio\'s permission, we are sharing his story with you in hopes that you will join us in helping to offer a token of compassion for what he and his family are going through. Any amount is greatly appreciated, no matter how small.  Every single dollar will go towards getting his uncle home.
