UPDATE

Brutus showed signs of being in a substantial amount of pain along his spine/abdomen when the vet examined him this afternoon.

They have sedated him and done another X-ray and still cannot see anything that explains what’s going on. His intestinal tract is clear, there is no damage to his spine etc.

They are admitting him again and starting him on a course of strong antibiotics and pain relief. If this does not have any effect then the next step would be tests involving spinal cord fluid and neurological examinations.

These would have to be performed by a specialist, would cost an exorbitant amount of money and still may not give us an answer. If it gets to this point, we will have to say goodbye to Brutus.

I’m sure you can all imagine how I’m feeling right now. This is absolutely heart breaking and though im not a religious person, im praying to whatever higher power there is to save our little friend.

Regardless of the outcome, I’ll be up for a hefty bill again tomorrow. So any donations are still very much appreciated.

Unfortunately Brutus has gone downhill again.

He’s refused to eat or drink since he has been home and doesn’t want to leave his crate. I’ve been trying to hand feed him, have taken him outside for fresh air, given him lots of love, Bill is visiting him and giving him pats.

This is absolutely heart breaking, and I’m unsure of what to do. He’s booked in to go back to the vet at 1pm.

The last bill was just shy of $2,500. And I’ve been told that further imaging and investigation will probably end in another bill close to the first one. As much as the thought of losing Brutus absolutely kills me, it’s something that I need to consider at this point.

I removed the links to the go fund me as I was hopeful that we were out of the woods. I’m going to repost it, and ask again, if anyone can help with one more attempt to make Brutus better and save Bills best friend it would be a blessing. Again, if you would prefer to donate directly to the vet, Litchfield is aware of the situation.

I also have a demountable listed for sale that I’ll accept any reasonable offer on at this point.

Brutus fell ill over the weekend. He went from being his beautiful, happy, patient little self to lethargic, unwilling to eat or drink and barely moving.

He has been admitted at the vet since Sunday. Unfortunately though all tests have been completed we are no closer to finding out what is wrong.

I have spent a vast majority of my life fortunate enough to be in a position to help others. And have always prided myself in doing so.

the last 12 months have been rough, I’ve found myself a single mother to a beautiful little girl trying my best to make ends meet and keep our home.

Asking for help is something I have never seen myself having to do, but unfortunately here we are. Though I am doing my best on my own, Billie has already lost so much at a young age, the thought of her losing her best friend breaks my heart.

So please, if you are able to help, even the smallest amount would be a blessing. ❤️
