Dog Days
So, I’m going on a bike ride to raise money for some cute rescue pups, and I would love it if you wanted to donate. Read on for more info!
DATE
June 17, 2021
LOCATION
G2G Rail Trail
GOAL
Bike 127km to raise $1270 for Save Our Scruff.

BACKGROUND
Save Our Scruff is a non-profit based in the GTA. Essentially, they’ve dedicated themselves to rescuing dogs and finding them what we call, forever homes. In support of their mission, I’ve spent the past few years volunteering as their Bio Writer. If you’re wondering what the heck that is, basically I write the educational/entertaining/endearing blurbs (like this one) about adoptable rescue dogs coming to Canada from all around the world.
Save Our Scruff is currently holding a fundraiser, Costapawlooza, to support our next Costa Rica intake happening on June 26, 2021. We’re welcoming 80 dogs into SOS care from our rescue partners including, Charlie’s Angels Costa Rica. To fully support each of these dogs coming to Canada, Save Our Scruff’s goal is to raise $40, 000. Yes, you read that right!! Wondering what specific donations cover? Here’s a quick breakdown:
Food: $25
Vetting: $50
Flight: $150
Foster Journey: $350
Sponsor a Dog: $500
GOAL
In support of this fundraiser, I’ve made my own goal of biking 127km in one go to raise a total of $1270. Yeah, that’s a serious goal, but it’s theoretically possible, you know, as long as I don’t stop pedaling! The bike route in question is the G2G rail trail (Guelph to Goderich), and I’m estimating it’ll take about 7 or 8 hours. Let’s keep in mind that while I’d love to beat this time, I’m not a pro cyclist so like, baby steps, ok.
Like, share, comment, or donate and let’s see if we can raise some money for some hella cute puppos. I’m also accepting sweet playlist recs because, well, 7 hours is a long time to be on a bike.
