Help me Rebuild After Losing My Home

Hi, my name is Sarah, and this is one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to write.

I’m a 57-year-old woman, and I’m currently facing homelessness after being served a no fault Section 21 eviction notice. This isn’t something I ever imagined would happen to me, especially after all the healing, growth, and hard work I’ve put into rebuilding my life.

Not long ago, I went through a complete mental health breakdown. I’ve included a photo taken during that time, not to shock, but to be transparent about the reality I’ve faced. That moment marked the beginning of a long, painful, but determined journey back to myself.

I’ve done so much to rebuild — emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and slowly, I was starting to see the light again.

But life doesn’t always give us time to catch our breath.

Due to my health, I’ve been signed off long-term sick, which has left me with no income and no financial stability. And now, with this sudden eviction, I’ve found myself completely overwhelmed and in fear of another breakdown.

I've recently being diagnosed with ADHD which has opened many doors for me in terms of understanding myself, but also led to years of struggle because of misdiagnosis.

What makes this even more painful is that I have received no help or support from my family. No offers of shelter. No check-ins. No lifeline.

It’s a loneliness that cuts deep, to feel invisible during one of the most vulnerable times of your life.

And so, with great humility, I’m turning to the kindness of strangers.

I need help to secure safe, stable accommodation and meet basic costs while I continue to recover. This includes a deposit, the first months rent and removal van costs.

I’ve come so far from where I was, and I don’t want to give up now. I know there is still so much life in me, so much love, and so much purpose, but right now, I need support to keep going.

My daughter had to move in with me to support me on my journey to recovery, and we are both facing this homelessness situation together.

If you’ve ever known what it’s like to fall apart and try to build yourself back up, then you know how hard this is to say.

Please, if you can help in any way whether it’s a donation, a share, or even a message of encouragement, it would mean more than you’ll ever know.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading this and thank you for seeing me.

Sarah
