Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this it means more than you know, recently in October of 2021 our 3 year old son Josiah was rushed to the childrens hospital having to undergo multiple blood draws, test and blood transfusion and a huge loss of more than half his body weight we received the news that no parent wants to hear our beautiful healthy boy is diagnosed with ALL Leukemia it’s a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow that affects white blood cells. Once we received the news he was rushed to the Anschutz Childrens hospital in Aurora where he was admitted and he had to undergo a bone marrow extraction for confirmation of his diagnosis it was then that the results confirmed his diagnosis and that it had also reached his brain once we knew what we were dealing with it was a series of chemo therapy and multiple medications to help with the bone pain. He also had to have a port inserted into his chest and a NG Tube placed in his nose. During his stay in the hospital he was immobile, and sad just not himself also having to be in isolation quarantined from Covid the days have been super hard with having to miss so much work and balancing out my time between him and the rest of his siblings. He got a little break and got to come home during the month of December to see the strength of my son learning how to move his legs again and not allowing nothing to stop him has been inspiring as he enjoyed his Christmas break it was time to go to the next phase of chemo as he had to say “see you later” and kiss and hug his siblings he had to be admitted through the new year. FaceTiming with his siblings have made it a bit better and he makes the best of it but with his new Round of chemo it starts to get challenging with home and medical expenses from loss of income the money that he will be blessed with, will go to his medical expenses, prescription expenses and gas expenses as he has to go to his appointments every Monday and Thursday this month a hour away with the Snow it makes it challenging. Juggling between my job who has no compassion and the rest of my 5 kids and my sons appointment it has been a rollercoaster as we still have a loooong way to go anything that is donated will be greatly appreciated we plan on hosting several fundraisers across town to help with expenses and raise awareness and help kids with critical illness.
