My name is Barry Thomson, I have been fighting prostate and bone cancer since October of 2019 and I am being treated at Dana Farber cancer center in Boston. The numbers representing the severity of my cancer have been doubling every three months consistently for the last year. On Friday, July 1st, 2022, I received a grim prognosis from my oncologist. He explained to me that if I do not receive chemotherapy treatment I will only have at most a single year to live. I have always worked paycheck to paycheck in order to live. At the age of 78, being treated with chemotherapy will more than likely render me unable to continue to work driving my truck and supporting myself.

 I am in desperate need for financial support to help pay my bills while being treated. Social Security, as most people are aware, comes nowhere close to meeting the cost of living. This treatment could add invaluable time to my life and with my family. This treatment could save my life.

I am eager to start my treatment on Wednesday July 13th, 2022. I am scheduled to receive six infusions, one every three weeks. After my treatment has concluded, I look forward to returning to work and continuing my life the only way I know how to.
