My name is Becky Cavanaugh and my niece Ellen is battling breast cancer. I would love to alleviate some of the family's stress by raising funds. This will help support the family while she takes time off from work. Here are Ellen’s words:

I don’t normally share private, personal information about myself on social media. But I feel I need to share this news to spread awareness. A couple months ago I noticed a small lump in my left breast. After imaging and a biopsy, it was confirmed I have breast cancer; Invasive ductal carcinoma, more specifically triple negative.

Ever since my diagnosis, life has been a whirlwind of appointments and even more diagnostics. Luckily I caught this early and am at stage 1. I will be going through 16 rounds of chemo, then surgery and finally radiation.

I have a long road ahead but I’m ready to put up a fight. Ladies, please do monthly breast exams and if you feel like something about your body isn’t right, listen to it and see your doctor. Catching cancer early is key to survival.
