Our family recently received heartbreaking news. Reverend Kevin Fitzpatrick has been diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer that has spread to multiple areas of his body. He has begun aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatment, and the road ahead is long and uncertain.
Kevin is not just a patient.
He is a husband, father of two, proud grandfather, and a devoted Reverend serving the Bethany - Pontypool and Janetville United Churches. For years, he has walked alongside others through their hardest moments — offering comfort, prayer, laughter, and stories that remind people they are not alone.
He has a rare gift for making people feel seen.
Kevin and his family live in the small community of Dunsford in Kawartha Lakes — a place where neighbours show up for one another. Now, Kevin needs that same circle of care.
Because there is no insurance coverage for his treatment, the financial strain is significant. Donations will help cover:
• Chemotherapy and radiation treatment costs
• Travel to specialists and medical appointments
• Lost income during treatment
• Medications and supportive care
• Everyday household expenses so his family can focus on being together
Kevin has spent his life learning about others, sharing stories, inspiring hope, and quietly lifting those around him. He is kind, compassionate, fun-loving, and deeply devoted to his family. He has married couples, comforted grieving families, and shown up again and again for his community.
Now we have the opportunity to show up for him.
We have set an initial goal of $16,000 to provide immediate support, with a long-term target of $28,000 to help sustain the family through the months ahead. Every dollar raised will ease the burden and allow Kevin to focus on what matters most — healing and time with those he loves.
If you are able, please consider donating. No amount is too small.
If you cannot give financially, sharing this page with your network would mean more than you know.
Let’s surround Kevin and his family with the same compassion he has given so freely to others.
Thank you for standing with him prayerfully and financially.
