Tuition Fees

Hi, my name is Daniel and I am fundraising for my Tuition fees. I am the first child of 3 children. My mum who is domestic violence survivor, divorced and a single mother believes in education. I attended an independent school from age 3- 5, my mum used the fund meant for my school to help my dad move from Nigeria to further his studies in Ukraine for 2.5 years.

Growing up with my dad, we experienced severe domestic abuse from my dad which led to my mum relocating. Going into year 7 my mum ensured I got the best of education in an independent grammar school where I also obtained bursaries, academic scholarships as well as Sport scholarship. Due to the domestic violence my mum lost a set of twin, we were moved into a Refuge home by the police where my mum and my siblings stayed for 7 months and my school put me in boarding as they were worried the situation would affect my performance thereby losing my scholarships. My mum stopped working as a sister in the hospital and she had to help support my siblings emotionally also dealing with severe depression and going to court for custody whilst my school and the Refuge was also giving me emotional support and counselling. She now has full custody of us.

My mum is currently recovering from surgery with no help, she is also suffering from Leaking Valve (awaiting repeat echo) before plan can be initiated, she has Fibromyalgia, Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis. Despite her ill health she still tries to provide and pay my fees until recently after her surgery and the leaking valve she is constantly tired and short of breath also needing aids to complete simple daily task such as entering the bath and I also had to help her around the house and with my siblings age 7 and 3.

My mum is considering withdrawing me from the fee paying school into state school however if she continue with this plan, my mental health will be badly affected because due to my dad’s behaviour my mum had to move from London to up North in the middle of a term for safety and my siblings and I had to change school few times, moving from one home to another.

I want to become a surgeon and am currently in year 9 and the class representative, also holding the post of equality in my year group. I play the Piano, football, Rugby, Athletic, hockey and am in top set in French and Spanish and 2nd set in Maths and all sciences.

The money from the fundraising will help pay for my Tuition for this term and next term, this will give my mum time to recover fully and to start applying for jobs to continue work to pay my fees.
