Hi.

So, uh.

My name is Rhiannon Daneel Olivaw and two things are true right now: I am producing and directing a stage show, a two-night performance of Mr. Burns, a post-electric play; and I have been saddled with an enormous dental bill. The long and short of it is that the cost of my procedures (which include replacing several broken fillings, repairing a cracked tooth, and a necessary series of Botox injections because my jaw muscles are profoundly overdeveloped - which explains the cracked tooth and broken fillings) is going to wipe out the savings I'd put aside to produce the show.

The cost of the procedures, which is all but equal to the cost of the venue hire, is just over £1200, and the additional costs of the show (costs we could not have accounted for in the initial budgeting phase, introduced by a number of complicated situations far, far beyond anyone's control) are also around £1200.

I am not currently earning enough to cover these costs, the cost of living, and any other sundry trouble. I'm on a fixed income, supplemented by freelance work that is not currently forthcoming (have you seen the state of the arts right now?) and it's all getting more than a little overwhelming and harrowing.

I'm not asking for a miracle. There are ways we can reduce the budget, should need be. But we cannot put this show on at all (and I can't have my dental work) without something shifting, which is why I'm asking for an assist here.

It's not what I wanted to do. It's not how it should've shaken out. I'm not proud, and I'm not happy about it. And I'm also terrified, for a laundry list of personal reasons, that I have to dox myself to make this feasible.

But I need the help, so. Please do what you can.
