Hi, my name is Jay and i am a trans man - while i believe and understand that our money/donations are useful for so many other things especially currently, i thought i would set this up to see if it could go anywhere.

Whenever I can, I aim to go on testosterone which will only be the beginning of my transitioning but will still be a huge step & it’s something that will help me feel confident in who I am as I dont think I can picture my far future without these changes. I was reffered to the gender identity clinic (which is on the nhs) in winter 2022/early 2023, however as the waiting list is already so long that gave me around 7 years to wait for an appointment. Even though it has been around 2 years now, I still have to wait almost the same amount of time as of early 2025. To give more of an idea - they are currently offering appointments to people who were referred in march 2019.

To give an idea, getting an initial hour long appointment/assessment to go on hormones privately costs around £400-£600 - for further tests/appointments/the hormones themselves it is often around the same price - Donating here will mean i have more of a chance of living my life comfortably, which is something I feel i have never been able to feel as a trans person.

If I end up getting hormones on the NHS, whatever money I have from here will be used for surgery in my future which is also something I feel I need to live a comfortable life.
