We are doing a skydive for the charity Guts UK in memory of Pooja’s Husband Raks who sadly suddenly passed away as a result of complications from acute pancreatitis.

Acute pancreatitis is a sudden inflammation of the pancreas gland.

One in four people who have an attack of acute pancreatitis can develop problems with other organs.

In one in 10 people who have an attack of acute pancreatitis, no clear cause is identified.

Sadly one in 20 people who experience an attack of acute pancreatitis will die from that attack.

Further research into all aspects of acute pancreatitis is desperately needed. Many research scientists, usually working with clinical specialists in acute pancreatitis are working hard to understand how pancreatitis can cause such severe whole-body inflammation.

Guts UK is uniquely placed as the sister charity of the British Society of Gastroenterology and is committed to fighting all digestive diseases including acute pancreatitis.

Digestive diseases are conditions that affect the gut, liver and pancreas. Collectively they are a factor in 1 in 8 deaths in the UK.

Guts UK supports medical research that saves lives and we hope you will support us in raising money for this amazing charity.
