Save Sophie

Hi! I'm Sophie, the sweet little tuxedo apple of my new mom's eye. She rescued me from a kill shelter in North Carolina where I was left outside for five months. When I first saw her, she held my tiny white mitten and I knew we would be lifelong teammates. We had two wonderful weeks together filled with so much happiness, playing with my favorite feather toy, snuggling, and so many chin scratches! But suddenly I got really sick. She's working so hard to figure out what's wrong, taking me to the kitty hospital where I stay the night getting the care she knows I need to see her again. The kitty doctors keep running tests and getting closer to figuring out what's wrong but time is running out and they say we need to start FIP treatments right away. My mom refuses to give up on me. I have trouble walking now, but in my mind we are chasing the feather toy like we used to every night. Even though my eyes are cloudy, I still see the way she smiles at me when she tells me I'm strong and have a long life ahead of me. I don't want to let her down. I want to fight. She's doing so much to look after me – please help me look after her, too!
