Hello, my name is Roberta Bertelli. I am from Treviso, Italy. I am in touch with some friends in Gaza that I am trying to help. For several years I sent them money to buy food and clothes. Primarily I am in contact with a young and generous woman named Asmaa Al-Najjar, from Kahn Yunis. She has 4 little children and she is trying to prevent them from dying of hunger and to protect them from cold and rain. Since I've known her she's always tried to help the people around her. Now winter is coming to Gaza, cold and hunger threaten families and children. They need clothes, shelter and food, but everything has a price. We can help them with donations. I will send money to Asmaa through PayPal, since she hasn't access to a Bank account for now.
This is a message from Asmaa: "My name is Asmaa Al-Najjar.
I'm a volunteer who has been working in the Gaza Strip for eight years.
For years and months, we've been distributing humanitarian aid to displaced people,
risking our lives to help those in dire need.
Families already suffering harsh conditions now face the threat of returning
to the levels of hunger and hardship they're experiencing this winter.
Their situation is catastrophic in every sense of the word.
They live in tattered tents that offer no protection from the cold or rain,
there's a severe shortage of food and water, and children, women, and the elderly
endure daily suffering without the most basic necessities for a dignified life.
The scene there is difficult… and the people are patient, but their patience
has reached its limit.
We urge all relevant parties to fulfill their responsibilities towards these families
living on the brink of tragedy.
The displaced deserve to have their voices heard.
Despite all the difficulties, we are here continuing to provide aid every day.
Our teams work tirelessly, day and night, to distribute food, blankets, clothing, and
other necessities.
Since the ceasefire, we have provided lunch to countless displaced people,
but the needs are immense.
Most of Gaza's population depends on humanitarian aid to survive.
I hope we can bring them moments of joy amidst this crisis.
With your support, we are their lifeline; be their lifeline too.
We will not stop giving. Your support is more urgent than ever.
Every donation means providing another food parcel or winter clothing.
Our people depend on us. Please donate now."
