Metastatic Cancer Treatment for Mom
My moms name is Kathryn and she is my favorite person in the world. My mom was misdiagnosed just before Thanksgiving with stage 3 cancer, however a pet scan and a few weeks later we learned she is stage 4, which is called metastatic. Her specific cancer is HER2+ inflammatory invasive ductal carcinoma breast cancer de novo. We were told to go home and enjoy the holidays live, love etc. she would not see next Christmas.
If you know my mom - she checked her feet and found no expiration date. We left the first opinion and found our second at a cancer treatment center in Seattle and started her first dose of metronomic chemotherapy on December 31!
Kathryn was given the opportunity to undergo a mastectomy because she had such an impressive response to her chemo, vit c, diet and supplement regimen. Kathryn underwent a double mastectomy this past June 2021 in Seattle. This is normally not offered to a metastatic patient as the hopes for ‘curative’ treatments are taken off the table. At stage 4 you are treated with palliative care so this was very positive news!
She is doing chemotherapy to clear/clean up any remaining cancer in her body, as well as continuing with her juicing, supplements, and intravenous vitamin c.
We’re trying to pay off and pay for the treatment overall from the clinic we go to in Seattle.
Our goal is to provide my mother with these vital vitamin C infusions with her cancer treatment so that her energy levels are sustained, white blood cell production is increased which is very important for chemo patients as the drugs used kill many of their white blood cells, and collagen support for skin-hairs-nails. As of now, we can’t afford to pay for intravenous vitamin C even though it’s highly effective for minimizing pain, protecting normal tissues from chemo toxicity and has synergistic effects with chemo.
I am starting this GoFundMe so that my mom can afford to pay for this treatment, since insurance doesn’t want to cover alternative treatments despite the research in it. This fundraiser will be used to pay for medical bills, vitamin C, supplements, treatments and alternative medicines. I’m not asking for people to throw money at me to help my mom, but please share this so that I can maybe help my mom. Say a prayer - prayer is powerful! Together we can help others with metastatic cancer get access to treatment that can cure or turn a deadly disease into a chronic one. I need her here with me and this will help her in her battle.
Thank you for reading, and for sharing.
