Bring Jason Home

It’s been over a week since the O’Donovan Family of Clonakilty, West Cork, were plunged into the deepest of sorrow. A search to find Jason, their beloved son, ended in the news that he had been found and had passed away in Sydney, Australia.  They longed to hear the phrase “found safe and well” but sadly this wasn’t the case. 

 

We are setting up this gofundme to “Bring Jason Home”.  A tragic death is something that no family should suffer, Jason being so far away in a land that he had made his home is making this tragic loss, so much harder to bear.  We are trying to support this family in any way that we can and a gofundme would negate financial worry.  

 

I have received their approval to set up this fundraising page.  I have known Jason’s parents since I was a child, my Dad worked for JohnJoe (Jason’s Dad) when I was young and Ann (Jason’s Mum) often gave me a hot drink in my primary school where she worked at the time.  They are truly a salt of the earth family and we want to do something to support them during this extremely heart breaking time. 

 

Our aim is to raise money in order to fund the expenses associated with Jason’s passing.  These include but are not limited to repatriation, funeral costs, etc.  Any funds not used will be donated to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust. 

 

As the old saying goes “a little goes a long way” so with that sentiment, anything you can donate, no matter how small, will count.  Any funds raised over what is needed will be donated to the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust who are giving the O’Donovan family invaluable support at this time.  This trust carries out phenomenal work in repatriation journeys to Ireland."

UPDATE !!! I have added Elaine O'Leary as a beneficiary for the funds generated on this gofundme, for those who don't know the O'Donovan Family, Elaine is Jason's sister and the eldest sibling.
