Hello Everyone my name is Jay and I am writing this on behalf of my two brothers junior, Ricky and myself and I am trying to raise funds to give our Dad the send off he deserves.
Woody as most of you will know him as has passed away peacefully in hospital on Sunday the 2nd of march 2025, woody has struggled with his health since his tragic work accident in 1996 where he had become an amputee and had to give up so much in his life such as working, and playing American football. Life had become such a struggle for him but he pushed on, in 2008 the reality of his accident hit home when he was diagnosed with some serious health concerns where by he was only given 12 hours to live by the hospital, as if that would stop him pulling through though, the outcome had lead him to become more and more tied to confines of home. No matter how often things were against him he still decided to push on. As he continued on for another 17 years against all odds unfortunately things got worse for him and his health became a constant battle for him, and here we are now.
woody done so many things for so many people, he adopted Ricky and myself in 2004 and took all three of us under his wings regardless of his own struggles, he was a vice chairman of the poppy association, he was a fund raiser for Blesma charity, he was a coach for an American football team the Bristol apache, he was a player and true supporter of the Bristol Aztec’s American football team, but most importantly he was a dad to three lads, a grandad to little Winnie, a friend to 1000s of people, a soldier for our queen and country, a brother to many men and women that were in the royal tank regiment with him and we will all miss him dearly.
any funds raised will be used to give him the best send off we can.
funeral arrangements will be updated on here once it has been arranged, thank you all for any part you have played in his life.
kind regards
