In the beginning of October my sister in law Mel began having extreme abdominal pain which led to an ER visit, hospital stay, an EGD with biopsy, and many new medications. We all assumed everything would go back to normal due to the results but, as weeks passed her abdominal pain continued. It worsened and became unbearable. When she was scheduled for an outpatient CT she received the scary call that she needed to go straight to the ER. That very evening she had an abdominal surgery where they took a biopsy for good measure—a second biopsy. While recovering in the hospital the biopsy resulted..then came the news...the news that no one wants to hear...you have cancer.

As most people know who are reading this, Mel is a nurse, she is not just any nurse she is the team leader of the IMCU. She has worked tirelessly to help sick people in our community throughout the last 20 years.

If you know Mel you know that she has never met a stranger and would give anyone the shirt off of her back and her last dollar. We always joke that her kindness is her weakness...but I feel very strongly that all of the kindness she has shown throughout her life will not only help in the weeks and months to come, but it will help her beat cancers ass.

I am starting this fundraiser for Mel to help her and her family get through this battle. She deserves all the best—-and in that I'm hoping we can raise some money to help relieve some of the financial burden for her family.

Her family includes her husband and my brother-Jason, her two boys Mason and Maddox, and my beautiful niece Jade.

As many people know medical bills can be insane and anything anyone can do to support the family at this time is a blessing.
