Due to an insanely enlarged uterus and 3 massive fibroids attached to my uterus, I am needing to have a full hysterectomy, before I bleed to death (no joke). Not the easy or swift kind either. The kind where I will be cut open extra because of how large everything is. Little did I know I have been carrying around a 5-month pregnant belly for a decade - yes, that is how big everything is in there.
I am reaching out for assistance for medical and basic living expenses.
I will have to be out of work and home for about 8 weeks without pay - assuming nothing goes wrong with the surgery. Because I need this in January, I will not have a year's worth of PTO to assist me. Thanks to the state of NY where I work, they only offer $160/week in short-term disability benefits. I am not sure about you, but I can't buy weekly groceries for multiple people with $160/week, let alone pay my mortgage, car payment, etc.
I never ask for help and try to give as much as I can to my community, family, and friends, but as the breadwinner with two children (who are not of age to work to help out), I am asking any amount you can spare to make sure we can pay our foundational bills and eat while I am in bed recovering. Anthony going to prison dropped me to a one-income family and we have adjusted, but being out of work with no pay for 8 weeks is not something I can absorb.
Every little bit helps. Much appreciated.
