Help Perry Achieve Gender Affirmation Surgery

Hi everyone,

My name is Bella Perry (she/her). I am reaching out to you today to share my story and ask for your support in my journey towards gender normalcy. 

Since I was 8 I have struggled mightily with my gender identity, and it has taken a significant toll on my mental and physical health. I have been in and out of mental treatment centers my whole life. I have started to transition, get scared and overwhelmed, and backed out no less than ten times in my life. I have had so many issues with substance abuse trying to kill away my female brain. It never worked.

 I lost the war. 

I can’t fight anymore. I’m tired. But in admitting defeat I have received ACTUAL HOPE FOR THE FIRST TIME. I see an actual light at the end of the tunnel and I’m stunned by it. I never wanted to live and now I do for the first time. I have reached a point where I need to prioritize my health and well-being, and a large portion of that is getting my body to match my brain. I was born intersex and surgeries were done, I need them fixed but I CANNOT afford it on a teachers salary. 

I wish I had the option of choosing not to transition. I would not being doing this, It’s hard and very scary. I’ve lost my family, my job, my home… the list goes on. I’m very scared and feel so alone. I HATE asking for help but in a desperate attempt I’m trying this. I didn’t ask for this. I don’t want it. 

At all. 

If I had an actual choice I wouldn’t be transitioning but I wasn’t given the luxury of that option. People say “whatever makes you happy,” but this doesn’t make me happy, far from it, it makes me normal however. Estrogen is the best antidepressant I’ve ever had, and I’ve had them all lol. 

Transitioning is a necessity for my mental and physical health. Unfortunately, the financial burden of surgeries and procedures required for my transition has made this process nearly impossible. With a child to support and little money, I have been unable to afford the necessary medical treatments.

I am humbly asking for your help to raise money to cover the costs of gender affirmation surgeries and procedures. The funds will be used for everything, from electrolysis to SRS. Florida’s horrific laws make healthcare coverage an impossibility and work and housing have been proving difficult to find for someone in my position. Your support will not only help me achieve my transition but also improve my quality of life and allow me to be the best parent, teacher, friend, and person I can be. Any bit helps.
