Hello, and thanks for reading.
My name's Adam, and I write science fiction.
(Sounds like something you'd say at a Writers Anonymous group)
I've been getting into the convention routine this year after two years of lockdown and restrictions.
Recently I received an invitation to go to Arisia - the premier literary sci-fi convention in New England.
This is big time.
Naturally, I'm thrilled.
And as a big bonus - my parents live in Boston, my brother and his family live in a suburb, so I'd probably get to see all of them for the first time in a few years as well. WIN!
But then I crunch numbers and come up way short.
Well, it's going to cost about $2000 for the hotel, airfare, and other expenses.
Normally I'd be able to make some of that up by selling books at the con, but this is Boston. I can't get enough books across the country to make a difference (even if I can get a vendor table, which isn't a guarantee).
So I need your help.
Spread out, it's not much - so anything you can give, whether that's two bucks or two hundred or anywhere in between, will go into the kitty.
Thank you so much, and I'll keep you posted on progress!
UPDATE 10/8: $165 raised - THANK YOU! Let's keep it going!
