Support Steve's Stroke Recovery Journey

The past three years have been incredibly challenging for our entire family, but through unwavering strength and determination, we continue to push forward, and we are seeing victories along the way. My mother, Diane, who worked as a pharmacy tech for over two decades, has courageously fought—and triumphed—over a battle with lung cancer. Each day, she grows stronger.

Steve, my father, who dedicated more than twenty years of service in the hospital's maintenance department, recently retired, and throughout my mother's battle, he has been her rock, providing unyielding support. However, last Thursday morning, our family was faced with yet another difficult turn. My father suffered a severe stroke, which required him to be life-flighted from the very hospital where he had worked for so many years. He had collapsed early that morning, but thankfully, he was quickly found by family. He underwent emergency surgery at Brigham and Women’s to remove a significant blood clot that had traveled to his brain. He is now in the Neuro ICU and has a long recovery ahead of him. While he has lost a considerable amount of his motor skills, we know he is a fighter, and we remain hopeful for his continued progress.

If you knew my parents, you would know they are two of the most honest, hardworking individuals—people who have always gone above and beyond for their community. Their names are still spoken with admiration and affection throughout the hospital, as they are deeply missed by all.As many of you know, Steve and Diane have always been there for others, giving selflessly to those in need. Now, as they face an overwhelming number of medical bills from my mother’s cancer treatment and the mounting costs for my father’s care, the burden has become difficult to bear. Any help, no matter how small, would mean the world to them and would go a long way in easing the financial strain they are facing during this incredibly challenging time.
