Hilf mir, meine Mastektomie zu finanzieren!

Hi ihr alle,

ich bin Marlin, nicht-binär und benutze keine Pronomen. Und ich möchte dich heute um deine Unterstützung bitten, denn ich sammle Spenden für meine Mastektomie.

Ich mag in der Sonne Fahrrad fahren, Cappuccino und dicke Bücher lesen. Ich mag keine Horrorfilme, stressige Innenstädte und Meerrettich. Aber wieso ihr das hier lest:

Ich mag auch meine Brüste überhaupt nicht. Und das schon wirklich lange. Nach jahrelangem Reinpassen-Wollen habe ich vor einiger Zeit entschieden – sie müssen ab. Im Frühjahr ist es endlich soweit: Ich habe einen Termin für die Mastektomie, das heißt die operative Entfernung der Brüste. Und ich freue mich riesig! Diese OP ist für mich ein wichtiger und lang ersehnter Schritt, um mich in meinem Körper gut zu fühlen.

Leider ist es aber für nicht-binäre Personen immer noch kaum möglich, die Kosten von der Krankenkasse erstattet zu bekommen. Und weil ich auch kein Testosteron nehmen möchte, muss ich die teure Operation leider selber zahlen. Das Geld fließt dabei in die OP selbst, aber auch in Zusatzkosten wie den Klinikaufenthalt, Medikamente, orthopädische Hilfsmittel und Versicherungskosten für eventuell anfallende Nachbehandlungen. Sollte nach all dem noch Geld übrig sein, wird es an eine andere Spendenkampagne zur Finanzierung einer non-binary Mastektomie weitergeleitet.

Natürlich ist eine solche OP auch anstrengend für den Körper, aber die Komplikationsrate bei Mastektomien ist extrem niedrig. Und zum Glück habe ich nicht nur viele liebe Menschen, die mich auf meinem Weg begleiten, sondern inzwischen auch einen tollen Chirurgen gefunden. Deswegen fühle ich mich sehr gut beraten und aufgeklärt und blicke dem Ganzen mit Freude entgegen.

Die Geldfrage bleibt jedoch, deswegen brauche ich deine Unterstützung. Ich freue mich wirklich sehr über jeden Betrag! Und natürlich auch, wenn du diese Kampagne mit deinem Umfeld teilst, damit sie möglichst viele Menschen erreicht.

I'm Marlin (they/them). I am non-binary and I'd like to ask for your help today, as I'm collecting money to finance my top surgery.

I like cycling in the sun, cappuccino and reading good books. I don't like horror movies, stressful city centers and horseradish. But why you're reading this: I also don't like my breasts at all. And I haven't for a really long time. After years of wanting to fit in, I decided some time ago - they have to come off. The time has finally come in spring: I have an appointment for a mastectomy, the surgical removal of my breasts. And I'm really looking forward to it! This operation is an important and long-awaited step for me to feel good in my body.

Unfortunately, it is still almost impossible for non-binary people to get the costs covered by their health insurance. And because I don't want to take testosterone either, I unfortunately have to pay for the expensive operation myself. The money goes towards the operation itself, but also towards additional costs such as the hospital stay, medication, orthopaedic aids and insurance costs for any follow-up treatment. If there is money left in the end it will be donated to another fundraising campaign for non binary top surgery.

Of course, such an operation is also stressful for the body, but the complication rate for mastectomies is extremely low. And luckily, I not only have a lot of lovely people to support me on my journey, but I have also found a great surgeon. I therefore feel very well advised and informed and am looking forward to the process.

However, the question of money remains, which is why I need your support. I am really very happy about any amount! And of course also if you share this campaign with people around you.
