My name is Luz Lozada, until last month I was living a normal life with my family. My husband, Jorge, my children, Jorge Jr., Sigrid, and Astrid, and I live in Pacifica. My daughter, Astrid is a sixth grader at Ocean Shore Elementary School. Two weeks ago my husband had a massive stroke and fell into a coma, and he has been in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) since then. His  illness has completely taken my family by surprise and has left us financially unprepared to deal with the tragedy. To add to our troubles, we brought my husband's parents from Mexico to pray for him, and say good bye. Three days after they arrived, my mother-in- law had a massive heart attack and died. We are now handling her cremation, and the care of my father in-law, who has Alzheimer's. I am a strong believer and my church has been praying for my husband and family. The Ocean Shore Principal has been a strong supporter in helping my daughter cope with the tragedy of losing her grandmother and her father.
My Husband was the main source of income for my family and his parents in Mexico. I am turning to my community for help in a time of crisis. We would be grateful for anything you could spare and are thankful for the supportive community in which we live.
