Rally for Jessica: Medical and Family Support Needed

My name is Kim, and I have been a friend of Jessica’s for 30+ years. We have navigated many seasons of life together and supported one another in each of those. Now is the season when my dear friend and her precious family need the support of the community to help them.

Jessica was unexpectedly and suddenly diagnosed with stage 4 Chondrosarcoma cancer on April 22, 2025. Chondrosarcoma is a type of bone cancer that develops from cartilage cells. This type of cancer hides well in the body and isn’t typically found until there is a mass and the cancer has spread. The spreading of this cancer has now affected Jessica’s lungs and made her dependent on oxygen for breathing. At this current time, Jessica is intubated to give her lungs a rest from the hard work they have been doing. The next course of treatment is chemotherapy when they can wean her off the intubation. This particular type of cancer is not typically responsive to chemo, but it is the best course of treatment available right now. If you know anything about Jessica, she is a fighter, and her faith in Jesus and the promises of the Word of God are what she clings to. She’s not ready to leave her husband of 19 years, her 3 children, or her grandchildren. So, she is fighting the fight for her life.

Here is what is needed: Money for the medical care needed, which may include traveling out of state for treatment. Money for the monthly bills since her husband is having to miss work opportunities to be with her and their children. Right now, they are financially dependent on her husband being able to work, and the hope of this is to alleviate that pressure so he can be present with her at the hospital, making the decisions necessary for her care and being with their children.

They say we aren’t meant to live in isolation and we need community. I am asking for the community to rally around Jessica and her family in their time of need. This is a family that has always gone out of their way to help others. Help me help them.
