My heart is filled with so much joy to be able to start this campaign for my best friend and her wonderful husband. This has been in my mind and heart for a long time, and I can't think of two people more deserving of starting a family. I've known Jessica for ten years. She is one of the most caring and loving people I know. She has wanted nothing more than to become a mother. She became incredibly blessed in meeting Joe, a wonderful guy, who also can't wait to share in the joy of becoming a parent. Unfortunately, things just didn't work out as planned.
Jessica is diagnosed with PCOS(Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and Endometriosis. After several extensive rounds of fertility testing, it was determined based on her "egg age" she only has a 10%! chance of having a successful pregnancy. She has undergone diet changes, medication therapy, hormone therapy, and surgery to improve her chances.
She still suffered several painful miscarriages over the course of this time.
Jessica and Joe have decided that the next step in their life is adoption. They want to give a child a loving home. They want to adopt locally. However, this process isn't cheap. This is where all you wonderful, amazing, generous people come in. The difficulty is in the start up costs and coming up with those initial funds. Jessica and Joe have sunk most of their financials into all of their fertility treatments and surgery so they are stuck right now. I want to help, and I know there are others out there that will want to help them out, too. This is a way to do that.
Here's a little breakdown of the adoption costs:
Initial fee: $3750
Homestudy fee: $1500
Match conference fee: $500
Match and acceptance fee: $2000
Finalization fee: $2000
(This is for an older child)
Tack on another $15,000-17,000 roughly for a newborn child (I may be slightly over/underestimating) but regardless, it's expensive!!!
As you can see any little bit will help. It will be beyond appreciated!! I can't think of two people more deserving, and if you know Jess and Joe you will also agree. These two people are so special to me, and I'm so excited to watch them go through this journey and finally start their family. I know they want this so badly so let's help them make it happen!
